We drove by this hotel bright and early in the morning yesterday and I decided that I had to have a picture of it. Clinton Oklahoma, home to a route 66 museum, a Casino and right off of Interstate 40 you can find plenty of lodging. I love the sign, all brilliant with its reds and yellows. It screamed 1950s Route 66. Historic and nostalgic, the sign pulls you in.
It was dreary and overcast as we passed through the first time, but the clouds were clearing on our way back from our trip to the great city of Taloga.
How cool is it that this old Chevy decided to drive by this old hotel while I was out taking photos? Very cool.
Route 66 has never been a primary focus of mine, but I enjoy the idealism presented by the pop-culture of the 1950s.
